The Alps  is a mountain range in the heart of Europe, covering the northern border of Italy, southeastern France, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Austria, southern Germany and Slovenia.  It can be subdivided into three parts, from the Mediterranean to the Western Alps of the Mont Blanc, from the Aosta Valley of Valle d'Aosta to the Brenner Pass (the junction of Austria and Italy), from the Brenner Pass to the  Eastern Alps of Lovinia.  Many large rivers in Europe originate here, and they are rich in water resources, making them a tourist, holiday and health resort.

There are 128 peaks in the Alps with an altitude of over 4,000 meters, the highest peak of which is 4810.45 meters above sea level, located at the junction of France and Italy.  The mountains are curved, 1,200 kilometers long, 130 to 260 kilometers wide, with an average elevation of about 3,000 meters and a total area of about 220,000 square kilometers.  To the north of the Alps is a climate with a lot of water, while the south is relatively dry with little rainfall.

Zermatt

Zermatt is located at the foot of the Matterhorn mountain, and its tourism development is closely related to Matterhorn, one of the most famous mountains in the world.  This resort is car-free and retains its original appearance, offering unlimited possibilities for your sightseeing.  Located at the foot of the Matterhorn Mountain, Zermatt is among the many mountaineering ski resorts, and its unique location makes it one of the most famous resorts in the world.  The ski area has 54 mountain ropeways and cable cars and over 300 km of ski runs.  Known as the Matterhorn Glacier Paradise, the area is the largest and highest summer ski resort in the world.  Many national ski teams are trained here in the summer.

In the eyes of mountaineers, the area is legendary: The Haute Route from Mont Blanc to Zermatt is an internationally challenging mountaineering route that takes a few days to complete.  A total length of more than 400 kilometers of hiking trails need to cross the entire Matter Valley, including a trade route that traces the traffickers of the 13th century.  Open-air cog trains provide passenger services between Zermatt and Gornergrat up to 3,089 meters.  Standing on the summit, you can see the fascinating views of the Matterhorn, Glacier and Rosa Peak.The highest point of view in Europe is at 3,883 meters above sea level, which can be reached by cable car, enjoying the panoramic view of the Matterhorn (4,478 meters) and the peaks of Switzerland, Italy and France.  There is a magical ice palace 15 meters below the ice.  There are 6 ski lifts and lifts for passengers to choose from, and climb to the top of the hill to enjoy the Matterhorn Glacier Paradise, the highest alpine summer ski resort on Theodul Glacier.

Switzerland is marvellous for its magnificent plateau mountains and ancient buildings. The country is small but has world-famous Alps and eleven world heritage sites.  Switzerland's winter is a paradise for skiers. In spring, summer and autumn, there are countless magnificent mountain scenery, and you can visit the town of Maienfeld, the hometown of Heidi, the animated film.

Switzerland has a world-class public transport network covering every corner of Switzerland. The Swiss railway is known for its safety and punctuality. It has developed a unique European scenic train and mountain railway, allowing passengers to easily travel to towns.  The Glacier Express is a world-famous sightseeing train that travels from the small town of Zermatt to the famous city of St. Moritz. Guests can enjoy the view from the window in the full-view carriage.  Take in the views of the Alps, the magnificent Grandwasser Viaduct and enjoy lunch in the comfort of the cabin.

When I came to Switzerland, the highlight was a close-up view of the snow-capped mountains.  The world heritage Jungfrau (4,158 meters) and the most famous Matterhorn in the Alps attract thousands of tourists every year.  It is recommended to take a mountain train from the town of Zermatt to a snowy mountain tour of Gornergrat. The scaffolding cable car takes about 40 minutes to climb to an altitude of 3,809 meters.  The Gonagart Snow Mountain Lookout, which is the best location to see the Matterhorn at 4,748 meters above sea level.
